Privacy Policy

Love Vault is built around the things people most want to keep safe. We take that seriously, and this policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@lovevault.app.

The short version

• We collect as little as we can to run the service.
• We never sell your personal information.
• The letters and notes you write are yours, and we don't use them for advertising.
• You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you create an account or join our waitlist, we collect your email address. When you use Letters, we store the content you create — your letters and their delivery settings — so the app can hold them and deliver them when you choose.

For waitlist signups, we may also store the signup source, approximate country, and browser user agent so we can prevent abuse, diagnose issues, and understand which Love Vault surfaces people joined from.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help confirm that waitlist signups come from real people. Cloudflare may process limited technical information for security and abuse prevention when the verification runs.

Couple Snap

In Couple Snap, we store your account identifier, profile name, sign-in email when provided, and partner connection so you can share photos with your paired partner. We store the photos you send, captions, capture times, reactions, and delivery and viewing activity to provide your shared memories.

A snap can include a place name and precise coordinates. These can come from your device location when you add a place, or from location metadata in a photo you import. Imported locations may be added to the draft automatically; you can remove the place before sending. Location included with a sent snap is shared with your partner.

We process notification tokens to deliver updates, and subscription and purchase information to provide paid features. We also collect app usage events linked to your account identifier to understand feature use, along with crash and diagnostic information to investigate problems. Couple Snap does not send photo contents, captions, names, emails, or coordinates in its product analytics events, and session replay is disabled.

Photos and related information may also be cached on your devices for display in the app, widgets, notifications, and the Apple Watch companion. Your partner can view shared content on their devices; account deletion cannot remove copies they have independently saved, such as screenshots.

Information collected automatically

Like most apps and websites, we collect basic technical information such as device type, app version, and limited diagnostic data to keep things working and to fix problems. We aim to keep this minimal.

How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and improve Love Vault and its apps.
• To deliver your letters at the time you've chosen.
• To deliver Couple Snap photos, reactions, and notifications to your partner and provide shared memories.
• To respond when you contact us or to send service-related updates.
• To keep the service secure and to prevent abuse.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party ads, and we do not use the private content you write to target advertising.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate — for example, Apple for app distribution and payments, Cloudflare for website hosting, waitlist storage, and bot protection, and infrastructure providers for email. They process information only to provide services to us and are bound to protect it.

For Couple Snap, providers include Supabase for authentication and account data; Apple and Google for the sign-in options you use; Cloudflare for backend services and photo storage; Firebase for push notifications and crash diagnostics; RevenueCat for subscription management; and PostHog for product analytics. Information is shared with these providers as needed for those functions. Your paired partner receives the content you share.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. In Couple Snap, use Settings → Delete account to initiate deletion. This deletes your shared Love Vault account across Couple Snap, Questions, and Letters, not just your Couple Snap profile. Your partner's account is not deleted, but shared content may change or become unavailable. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; manage or cancel it through your Apple subscription settings.

Deleted Couple Snap photos are removed from the active shared memories. Stored photo files may remain pending scheduled cleanup rather than being erased immediately. Service providers may retain records under their own retention policies, including transaction records. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us and we'll help.

Children

Love Vault is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region), and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know.
